The 511th Military Police Company conducted readiness training to ensure tactical and technical proficiency in combat, combat support, and garrison security missions. The unit maintained a deployment ready posture capable of responding to any 10th Mountain Division or Forces Command contingency or rotational mission world wide. The 511th Military Police Company was first constituted on 12 November 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 1125th Military Police Company and activated on 1 January 1943 at Brookley Field, Alabama. During the Second World War, the Company participated in the Leyte campaign and subsequently took part in the Allied occupation of Japan. The Company was inactivated on 25 March 1946 in Japan.
