The Blackhorse Runs on Coffee Too.

The 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment — the Blackhorse — has been the Army’s gold standard for armored cavalry since 1901. Whether charging through the Ia Drang Valley, holding the line at the Fulda Gap, or grinding down every brigade combat team that dares rotate through the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, the Blackhorse doesn’t quit. Troop Q, the Attack Helicopter Troop, brings the regiment’s aerial punch — fast movers, eyes forward, and always in the fight.

This glossy black ceramic mug carries the 11th ACR ATK Helicopter Troop Q-4 branch insignia with text — a daily reminder of the standard you held and the unit you served. Whether it’s 0500 at the FOB or 0700 at the kitchen table, start the day right.

Who It’s For

Soldiers and veterans of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, ATK helicopter crews, NTC OPFOR alumni, Army aviation community members, and military families honoring Blackhorse service. About the Unit

The 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment was activated in 1901 and has served in every major U.S. conflict from the Philippine-American War through Vietnam and beyond. Today the regiment serves as the permanent OPFOR at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California — the most realistic large-scale combat training environment in the U.S. Army. Troop Q (Attack Helicopter Troop) provides organic rotary-wing attack and reconnaissance capability, integrating AH-64 Apache firepower directly into the Blackhorse’s combined arms operations.
