Unit History
The 12th Infantry Division, associated with the Philippine Division, was a U.S. Army formation active during World War II. Stationed in the Philippines, the division was composed of both American and Filipino troops who fought valiantly during the defense of Luzon and Bataan in 1941–1942. Its shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI), shown without text, represents its service in the Pacific and the unity between U.S. and Philippine forces during the early battles of the war.
