The ARVN Rangers — Light Infantry of the Republic of Vietnam
Trained alongside American Special Forces and Ranger advisors, the Vietnamese Rangers were among the most battle-hardened light infantry units of the Vietnam War. Operating deep behind enemy lines on search-and-destroy missions, they evolved from a counter-insurgency force into a versatile swing force capable of both conventional and unconventional warfare — trusted to retake captured ground when no one else could.
During Vietnamization, they absorbed the Civilian Irregular Defense Group's Border Battalions, extending their reach into the remote outposts of the Central Highlands. Their scroll is a mark of elite service, sacrifice, and an alliance forged under fire.
