This brigade was activated in Fort Richardson, Alaska. In 2011, 3,500 soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team were deployed to Afghanistan.
25th Infantry Division
This division has fought in many conflicts, including the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Global War on Terror, and the war in Afghanistan. The 25th Infantry Division is known as "Tropic Lightning" and has a memorial on Schofield Barracks that honors the division's history. The memorial includes five bronze statues that depict soldiers from different conflicts.
