83rd Armored Field Artillery Bn - 9th Armor Div - WWII

The 9th Armored Division is recognized as one of the 36 liberating units of the US Army during World War II. On May 8, 1945, troops of the 9th and 1st Infantry Divisions liberated two subcamps of the Flossenbürg concentration camp. The sign erected by the 9th Armored division on the Ludendorff bridge after its capture.
