Unit History
The term "141st (phantom) infantry division" refers to a unit that was created as a deception during World War II, a "phantom" or "ghost" division. This was a non-existent unit created to confuse German intelligence about the actual size and deployment of U.S. forces. Patches for this fictitious division were designed and even worn by soldiers to enhance the illusion.
