Kiss-Cut Vinyl Decals - Army - 92nd Infantry Division - Buffalo Soldiers - Camp Funston Ks - WWI
The 92nd Infantry Division, known as the "Buffalo Division," was a segregated unit in the U.S. Army that served in both World Wars. It was activated in 1942 and is notable for being the only infantry division comprised entirely of African Americans to see combat in Europe during World War II. The division played a significant role in the Italian Theater and was part of the 5th Army. It was first constituted during World War I and commanded by Major General Charles C. Ballou throughout most of its existence. The division's nickname, "Buffalo Soldiers," pays homage to the African American cavalrymen of the 19th century.
