The 67th Air Defense Artillery Regiment was originally constituted in the Regular Army as the 67th Artillery (Coast Artillery Corps) on May 2, 1918 and organized at Fort Winfield Scott in California shortly thereafter. The unit earned a World War I streamer before its demobilization in April 1919. It was later reconstituted as the 67th Coast Artillery in 1926 and went through several redesignations, ultimately becoming the 67th Air Defense Artillery Regiment in 1971
