The 2nd Squadron, 10th Cavalry was historically a unit with ties to the "Buffalo Soldiers" and served during the Korean War, potentially operating in the area of Uncheon-Ni and associated with Camp Kaiser, which was occupied by elements of the 7th Infantry Division in the early 1950s. The 7th Cavalry Regiment itself saw action in World War II and the Korean War.
