The 6th Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, was a key unit of the U.S. Army's Berlin Brigade during the Cold War, stationed in West Berlin. Following the reorganization of the Combat Arms system in 1984, the battalion was reactivated and served in various capacities, including peacekeeping operations in the former Yugoslavia and Turkey. The Berlin Brigade, including the 6th Battalion, was inactivated in 1994 following the end of the Cold War and German reunification.
