The 25th Infantry Regiment, a notable "Buffalo Soldier" unit, had a history intertwined with Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and the broader Infantry Branch of the U.S. Army. Activated in 1866, the regiment, one of the segregated Black units, played a significant role in the American Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War, and World War II. Fort Sill, a historic Army post, served as a key location for the 25th Infantry, particularly during the Indian Wars era.
