Die-Cut Magnets -WAC - NDSM  - COLD WAR Service Bar X 300

The 24th Infantry Regiment was one of the original "Buffalo Soldier" regiments of the U.S. Army, composed of Black soldiers, formed in 1869 from two other regiments. It served on the western frontier, engaging in conflicts with Native Americans, protecting settlers, and guarding the Mexican border. The regiment later fought in the Spanish-American War, participated in garrison duties in the Philippines, and distinguished itself during the Korean War, where it earned the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. The regiment was inactivated in 1951 but was reactivated in 1995 as the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment, which has since deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
