Unit History
On 1 July 1955, the 19th Armor Group was redesignated the 4th Armor Group inheriting the history of the 4th Cavalry Regiment and all of its elements. The 4th has been stationed in Frankfurt, Germany since 1955 and is considered by General Clarke, Commanding General, Seventh Army to be his sixth division.
