The 44th Medical Brigade in Vietnam
Activated January 1, 1966 at Fort Sam Houston and deployed to Long Binh in May 1966, the 44th Medical Brigade commanded the entire medical support network across the Republic of Vietnam — evacuation hospitals, surgical units, MASH elements, and air medevac assets. Their motto: To Conserve Fighting Strength.
