The Bastogne Bulldogs - Glider Infantry Excellence
The 327th Infantry Regiment (Bastogne Bulldogs) is an infantry regiment of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) of the United States Army. During World War II, the 327th was a glider-borne regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. It fought during World War I as part of the 82nd Division. It has also been deployed in the Vietnam War, Gulf War, and most recently to Iraq and Afghanistan.
On D-Day, June 6, 1944, elements of the 327th Glider Infantry Regiment landed in Normandy aboard gliders, joining the fight to liberate Europe from Nazi occupation. Glider infantry faced unique dangers—landing in flimsy wooden and canvas gliders that offered no protection, often crash-landing in fields surrounded by enemy forces, and immediately engaging in combat upon landing.
Bastogne - The Siege That Defined Them
The 327th Glider Infantry Regiment earned its nickname "Bastogne Bulldogs" and immortal fame during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. When German forces surrounded the 101st Airborne Division at Bastogne, Belgium, the 327th fought with extraordinary courage and determination to hold the critical crossroads town. Despite being outnumbered, low on ammunition, and facing brutal winter conditions, the Bastogne Bulldogs refused to surrender.
When the Germans demanded surrender, Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe's famous one-word reply—"Nuts!"—embodied the defiant spirit of the 327th and the entire 101st Airborne Division. The regiment held Bastogne until relief forces arrived, earning a Presidential Unit Citation and cementing their legacy as one of the most courageous units in American military history.
Whether you honor the 327th Glider Infantry's D-Day service, their heroic defense of Bastogne, or their continued legacy of excellence, this t-shirt represents courage, sacrifice, and the indomitable spirit of the Bastogne Bulldogs.
Ideal for: 327th Infantry Regiment veterans and soldiers, 101st Airborne Division supporters, WWII history enthusiasts, military reunions, veterans' families, and everyday wear.
327th Glider Infantry. Bastogne Bulldogs. D-Day heroes. Nuts!
