UNIT HISTORY
The 21st Signal Group was activated on 1 September 1965 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and deployed to Nha Trang, South Vietnam. Operating across some of the most demanding terrain of the war, the Group provided critical area signal communications support throughout thirteen campaigns, earning the Meritorious Unit Commendation. Inactivated in 1971, the lineage was reactivated in 2003 as the 21st Signal Brigade, headquartered at Fort Detrick, Maryland — a legacy that lives on.
