Unit History
The U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) is the Army component of U.S. Special Operations Command, headquartered at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. USASOC commands the Army's elite special operations forces — including Special Forces (Green Berets), Rangers, Civil Affairs, Psychological Operations, and Special Operations Aviation. The motto Sine Pari — Latin for "Without Equal" — traces its origins to the early 1980s and is worn proudly on the berets of soldiers assigned to USASOC Headquarters. It is not just a motto; it is a standard that every USASOC soldier is expected to uphold in training, in combat, and in service to the nation.
