The battalion was responsible for III CTZ airmobile equipment support and construction support under the 159th and 79th Engineer Groups just north of Saigon. The unit moved to \u003ca title=\"Phước Vĩnh Base Camp\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ph%C6%B0%E1%BB%9Bc_V%C4%A9nh_Base_Camp\"\u003ePhước Vĩnh\u003c\/a\u003e on 20 October 1968 and to \u003ca title=\"Long Binh Post\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Long_Binh_Post\"\u003eLong Binh\u003c\/a\u003e in mid-1971 where it remained until it departed Vietnam for return to the United States.
